Secondary School
Junior & Senior Secondary

Our secondary school is a blend of both British and Nigerian curricula.  As a result, our students are prepared to sit for state, national – Junior and Senior National examinations administered by the National Examinations Council (NECO) and international exams such as the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) administered by the University of Cambridge and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE administered by the West African Examination Council, WAEC.  From the very first day of admission into LCIC, our students are trained to acquire the skills and knowledge they will require to sit for and pass the exams above.

Junior Secondary school (JSS1 – JSS3 or Year 7 – 9)

Our Junior secondary school students are bright and eager-to-learn students who have just graduated from the primary school.  At this stage, our students are trained on core subjects, including Mathematics, English and sciences to prepare them for both state, national and international exams.  In addition, they are encouraged, at this stage of their life to think about their future, and what career they would love to engage themselves in.

We strive to ensure that at the end of year 9, our students have acquired adequate levels of literacy, numeracy, manipulative, communicative and life skills, as well as ethical, moral and civic values needed for a solid foundation for life-long learning.

Senior secondary school (SS1 – SS3 or year 10 – 12)

Students who have completed the Basic 1 through 9, and have sat for the requisite international and national examinations are eligible to progress to our senior secondary school.  Here, our students are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and experience they require to compete with their peers both locally and internationally.  Our dedicated staff work tremendously over the three years to ensure that our students are adequately prepared for the IGCSE examination in June/July and the WASSCE/NECO exams in May/June.  At this stage of the programme, the syllabus is widened to include subjects that will captivate our students, and to enable them think about the next stage in their career.

Our Physics, Chemistry and Biology practical laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to encourage our students to appreciate science and expand on the theoretical concepts they have covered in class.

University Foundation Programme (UFP)
The UFP is a fast track equivalent to the A’ levels. It particularly broadens students’ knowledge, develops their practical skills and provides them with degree level study. The students that follow this programme would be guaranteed direct entry into our partner universities upon successful completion of the course. The University foundation comes in different pathways: Medicine and Health Science, Social Sciences, Humanities, Engineering and Science pathways. The UFP academic year has two entry dates – September and January. The academic year is designed to allow all students commence their university degree the following session. Students study 6 modules in total, which are spread over the duration of the course in order to provide an even workload. Three essential modules in pre-determined subjects and 3 Core modules relevant to the student’s future degree programme. Students choose which three modules they wish to study.

Entry Requirements:

  • 5 Credits minimum credits in relevant subjects including English & Mathematics in IGCSE, O’LEVEL Cambridge, WASSCE and NECO or other equivalent examinations.
  • Candidates in SS3/Yr 11 can apply before the completion of their course. 
NCC International Foundation Year (IFY)

IFY is a programme that prepares students into bachelors degree of their choice . It is a one year course and students will take modules relating to their chosen career path. On successful completion of the Programme students are guaranteed a place at any of our partner’s universities to pursue a degree course.

Entry Requirements:

  • 5 Credits minimum in relevant subjects including English & Mathematics in IGCSE, O’LEVEL Cambridge, WASSCE and NECO or other equivalent examinations.
  • Candidates in SS3/Yr 11 can apply before the completion of their course. 
Cambridge ‘A’Levels
Cambridge ‘A’ Levels is recognized worldwide and many students gain admission into universities UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand with this qualification. It is an excellent preparation for university, taken in over 125 countries and offering over 60subjects. Students can get up to a year’s credit in some US Universities. Students can choose 3 major modules which are relevant to their intended degree course. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Business Studies, Further Mathematics, Economics, English Literature, Law, Sociology, Psychology, Geography, French.
IGCSE
This course is offered to SS2 students, those who have attempted Cambridge ‘O’ levels and WAEC before but did not make the required grades.
SAT/TOEFL
This is an examination for direct entries into US Universities. Lekki City prepares and facilitates tutorials for between three to six months for the preparation of this exam, to confirm suitability of International Student for University admission, however, ‘O’ Level or ‘A’ Level is required before attempting this programme.
GMAT
The GMAT stands for Graduate Management Admission Test. It is administered by Graduate Management Admission Council (or GMAC) and required for admission to most U.S., Canadian, and European business school MBA programs. Also, the GMAT test result can be used for admission to business PhD program, such as Harvard Business School DBA program. It tests the “mental intelligence” and the ability to make decision under time pressure.
GRADUATE RECORD EXAMINATION (GRE)
The GRE or Graduate Record Exam is required for admission to most U.S., Canadian, and UK graduate schools. Most students attend graduate business school for pursuing an Master degree. In addition, GRE can also be used for admission to PhD program. The GRE general test does not test specific knowledge in any subject. It measures the ability to respond to questions in limited time. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a multiple-choice exam designed to measure verbal, analytical, and quantitative skills. The GRE General Test, required by most graduate schools, many vet schools, and various other allied health professional schools, is considered to be a good predictor of your success in a graduate program. GRE Subject Tests (in 17 specific areas, e.g. Psychology, Biology, Chemistry) are often required for graduate school (Ph.D.) admission, but not generally for health fields.
SPANISH CLASS
In addition to the above programmes, we currently offer Spanish class. Our Spanish class is taught by an experienced tutor, who is very fluent in the Spanish language. The Spanish class takes place in the evening from 4pm to 6pm to allow time for working-class people to attend the class after their normal office work.
